man who created the first home video console.
In
recognition of his pioneering work in the creation and development of video
games, Baer was given a National Medal of Technology by Former President George
W. Bush in 2006.

Kids love to read about things in which they're interested. Good choice. Another good read for "gamer" kids, is the bio of Shigeru Miyamoto, the designer of Nintendo Games.
